THIS DOES NOT WORK ON CHROMEBOOK! Is there another way? Plz?

reply to Ms.ComputErrr 2018-04-18 10:13:42

for chromebook it is CTRL + SHIFT + U then the code, not alt

Ms. ComputErrr 2018-03-26 04:34:36

It does not work.I have a chromebook and when i press alt and a number something shows up so when i try alt and 3 numbers 3 things show up like camera,my email and something else but never the thing that is supposed to show up.I have a number row not a keypad.it would be easier with a keypad.
:-(

Jason 2018-01-17 22:17:30

i use a macbook so i just press the alt then press 4

Shirley 01/16/2018 2018-01-16 18:47:11

Make sure your Number Lock Key is ON. I had no trouble doing with ALT. 155 or ALT. 0162 for the cent sign ¢ (0162) or ¢ (155)

bernadette s 2017-08-30 19:52:23

helpful code but it's easier when you can just use alt + 155

Carolyn Young Hairston 2017-05-31 20:32:19

Thank you very much for posting these codes. I was able to use one of them that made my assignment a lot more pleasant.

***ATTENTION***
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A NUM-PAD OR CAN'T GET THIS TO WORK, JUST GOOGLE SEARCH FOR THE THING YOU WANT AND COPY/PASTE THE SYMBOL YOU NEED FROM THE RESULTS. EZ, PZ

Holly 2017-04-27 23:52:12

My computer doesn't have a KEY PAD only the number row. Can I still do this? Or...is there another way around it using the number row?

Anonomys 2017-04-18 17:57:47

Suzanne 2017-03-17 06:01:24

I want to become a illuminati

DANIEL 2016-11-14 02:39:51

ALT 155 PUTS ¢ INTO A WORD PROCESSING DOCUMENT BOTH IN ANGEL WRITER AND IN OUTLOOK EXPRESS.

ALT 236 GIVES INFINITY ∞

ALD 130 GIVES é WHICH YOU NEED TO TYPE Resumé.

Either Alt button works but you need to hold the alt key while you type numbers on the numerics pad apparently with the 1 light on.

Liviana Sujatmiko 2016-11-13 09:02:04

How do we use it so hard at words microsword also. i know we we press and hold alt than when we type 0162 it can't not open cent symbol.

bobbyjim 2016-10-27 22:30:03

how do you use the unicode thing?

juday 2016-09-15 18:54:38

I love this. I always need the ¢ 0162 and the ° 0176 signs. Just hold down the alt key punch in the number. (you have to use the 0 or it will be something else.)

zigga 2014-11-12 15:40:31

Comment 2014-09-26 14:17:32

YOU HAVE TO USE THE NUMBERPAD ON YOUR KEYBOARD, NOT THE NUMBER ROW.

Josh 2014-04-09 16:07:26

I don't think you understand ASCII codes. Words don't have codes.

Anna 2014-03-28 05:06:49

Hi, does anyone know what the ASCII code is for the word "Done" ?

Joey 2013-10-23 10:21:49

@Lidia, you have to use the "0" also. You said you tried alt+162, you have to use four digits. that's my ¢.02 worth! ;)

Lidia 2013-10-18 07:48:47

Alt164, don't work anymore for me, instead of the Spanish letter I get a smiling face! ! ! Help!

alfonso 2013-08-20 22:05:38

Bob 2013-07-08 15:57:41

Interrobang is Alt+8253 ‽

dan 2013-06-12 11:54:33

How do you create a cent sign with Libre Office?

Carol 2013-05-05 18:19:20

I am using excel 2007. I am trying to find the alt key number for the checkmark sign. It used to be alt 251. For Josh above I found the number for the cent sign. It is alt 0162.

Josh 2013-02-14 08:45:33

On your list of alt-codes 0-255 the cent symbol is shown as 155. The diameter symbol comes up for 155.

Bruce 2013-01-31 12:29:22

"I remember a code that would back the cursor up 1 space before printing the next code or character but I can't find it at the moment"

That would he backspace key.

Dave929 2013-01-10 20:27:49

I don't believe that is a real ALT code or symbol. I believe it is done with a combination of codes. I remember a code that would back the cursor up 1 space before printing the next code or character but I can't find it at the moment.

PHIL BITTLE 2012-12-15 20:00:29

Is there an ALT key code for the interrobang? That's a combination ! and ? superimposed .
